Quentin’s goal is to capture a young man and perform an operation that will turn him into Quentin’s personal zombie. He has tried three times before to make a zombie but he was unsuccessful. As you get to know Quentin throughout the book he tells you about his next target, Squirrel. That is the nickname he gave to his grandmother’s 15 year old neighbor. For the rest of the story Quentin explains and puts his plan into action.

The book was very different from your average book. The first thing you notice when you start to read is the writing style. The book is written in the first person and pays very little attention to grammar. The whole book is just Quentin’s rambling thoughts, where he abruptly changes the subject many times. You definitely need to think as you read the book because it is very difficult to follow Quentin’s train of thought.

For the most part I liked the book, but there were some drawbacks. I hated the writing style because of its rambling sentences and random thoughts interjected in. I also did not like the fact that it was written in the first person. I think the book would have been more interesting if we knew what a few more of the characters were thinking.

I didn’t really connect with the book at all because I had nothing in common with the main character. I think that this would be a great book to read if you like scary books or like a first person writing style.
